about
"I wrote this song right as my partner and I had started living together and co-writing songs. They are really into nu-metal and more shoegaze and alternative metal inspired bands like Deftones. This was my best approximation of that style of song, with like chugging drop tuned choruses and a very polarized sense of dynamics, the loud quiet loud Nirvana/Pixies inspiration. We are kinda cliche but the stuff that's fun to do as a band and on guitar kind of always is. Why else would we still be buying Big Muffs!
The lyrics are all my partner's. They wrote them about how we met at a show they booked and played years ago. They didn't remember me but I remembered them. They gave me two pins for their band Bridal and I put them both on my jacket!"

lyrics
A basement, a floor.
Hazy, the details are escaping.
A face and noise,
I think some conversation took place.
There's something I can't put my finger on...
I'm forgetting something important.
A cosmic alignment.
I thought astrology was bullshit.
But there you are
my rhinestone cowboy dream.
There's something I can't put my finger on...
I'm forgetting something important.
Where do I know you from?
(Memory is string:
The ends pulled tighter
around your forefinger
drawing blood like wire.
Place your trust in weaving
coupling the tangles)
Was it the night that I was drunk?
I remember now.
